Ramage (1965)
Ramage, third (or possibly fifth) lieutenant of the frigate Sibella completes the ship's mission to rescue Italian Royalist refugees after a French 74 sinks the ship and kills all the other officers.

Ramage and the Drumbeat (1968)
Ramage, in command of the cutter Kathleen, is captured with her, acts as a spy, recaptures the cutter and finally helps Nelson in the Battle of Cape St Vincent.  
Ramage and the Freebooters (1969)
Ramage now commands the despatch brig Triton in the Caribbean, and is charged with finding out how coastal merchantmen are disappearing on leaving Grenada.

Ramage, still commanding Triton is shipwrecked on a tiny island - of which he becomes Governor.  
Ramage's Prize (1974)
Without a command, Ramage is shipped back to Britain - with a commission to find out why and how mail packets are disappearing

Ramage as a spy in France, gathering intelligence about plans to invade England.  
Ramage's Diamond (1976)
Finally made post and in his natural habitat as a frigate captain, Ramage in Juno attacks a French convoy off Martinique.  
Ramage's Mutiny (1977)
Ramage takes command of the frigate Calypso, a command that lasts almost to the end of the series. He is assigned to cut out a captured British frigate from a Spanish port.  
Ramage and the Rebels (1978)
Ramage chases privateers around the West Indies.  
The Ramage Touch (1979)
In the Mediterranean, Ramage causes a deal of trouble to the French, and then comes across an invasion fleet.  
Ramage's Signal (1980)
More derring-do with Calypso in the Mediterranean,  
Ramage and the Renegades (1981)
Back in the Caribbean, Ramage claims an island. (This is the twelfth book and only four years have passed since the first.  
Ramage's Devil (1982)
Ramage honeymoons in France during the peace of Amiens, and has to steal a ship to escape when war breaks out again.  
Ramage's Trial (1984)
On convoy duty, Ramage is attacked by another British ship, and ends up being court-martialled.  
Ramage's Challenge (1985)
Back to the Mediterranean to rescue highly placed hostages kept by the French at the end of the Peace of Amiens.  
Ramage at Trafalgar (1986)
Ramage manages to get Calypso involved in the Battle of Trafalgar.  
Ramage and the Saracens (1988)
To help out the Kingof the Two Sicilies, a British ally at Naples, Ramage takes Calypso to Sicily to deal with Barbary pirates  
Ramage and the Dido (1989)
Finally the quintessential frigate captain Ramage is put in command of a ship of the line, the 74-gun Dido in the West Indies and in particular at Martinique. The author's death ends the series in mid-stream.
