Richard Woodman's series has definitively come to an end with the publication of "Ebb Tide", which will disappoint many, not least me. At least, happily, unlike Forester, O'Brian and Pope, he chose to terminate them voluntarily.
I didn't discover the series until some years after it started, and with no Internet had to spend some time keeping a sharp eye out for him in bookshops. His books are among the best from an all-round point of view.
